First talks held on dispute arbitration at Kaesong complex

A joint panel made up of officials from South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has met to discuss dispute arbitration at the Kaesong industrial complex. It's the first meeting of its kind since 2000.

South Korea's Unification Ministry says the two sides have discussed arbitration regulations and procedures. The joint panel has also decided to hold a second round of talks.

The establishment of the panel followed the agreement made by the two sides last September. The panel works as a court for handling legal disputes with 30 arbitrators from each side.
